Back on the slopes

Overall, the entire healing period was surprisingly fast. Besides one minor setback, where I slightly aggrevated my knee after a tough GS training session, my injury healed itself without any complications whatsoever. I thank several people for such a swift recovery, whether it was the specialized doctors, a nutrition/diet specialist, or those who helped me with the simplest of efforts during my time of being unable to move fully.

I thus returned to the snow. I trusted that I would recover sooner than expected, in time to participate in a few events before the racing season concluded. It just so happened, and I finished the SR and CR championships in the Czech resort of Kouty, participating in the slalom discipline. A great feeling followed since my knee felt okay, lacking any signs of real pressure or pain even during the tough portions of the races. The fact that I acheived first place in the senior category of the SR championship, only added to my happiness of fully skiing again.

In the next few days I will continue to participate in several other disciplines at the Slovak and Czech Republic championships here in Špindleruv Mlyn. Soon my team will also choose a few other suitable races, in hopes of improving my FIS ranking. Although the season is technically ending, we are only getting started. Every day on the mountain brings forth more and more mental strenght, which I had been short on in the previous weeks.
